Before you hit the search engines, take a moment and familiarize yourself with some of the advantages and disadvantages of free sites

The Advantages

• The website is free to set-up.
• The web hosting is free.
• Easy to set-up and load art to.
• Able to market from that platform to social media.
• The web host promotes their site to attract visitors.

The Disadvantages

• Part of a community of other artists.
• Difficult to find your website/art portfolio.
• The art is commingled with ads and other artist’s art.
• In most cases Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is not possible.
• Being free usually means that there are limitations on design and size.
