Because The Artist Index (TAI) is a directory, many of the links it contains lead to sites and pages outside of theartistindex.com. These sights do not share a common navigation system with TAI. In fact, they are not even required to be linked to it.

For this reason ALL external sites ALWAYS open in a new page. Besides ensuring that a viewer is able to return to TAI quickly, this has the added advantage of allowing the viewer to have multiple pages open at once if they'd like to compare artists.

Following are TAI's navigation symbols and what they do:

	go to THE ARTIST INDEX home page		go to the TOP OF PAGE
	go to the FINE ARTIST DIRECTORY		go to the FAQs page (this page)
	go BACKWARD IN HISTORY; this works the same as the back arrow in your browser		CLOSE this page
	go FORWARD IN HISTORY; this works the same as the forward arrow in your browser		NOTES, comments, & extra reading

 

HINT: Should you forget what a Navigation button does, place the cursor over the button. After about 2 seconds a tool tip should pop up.
